2018/19

2004/5 - 2022/23
After the expected council decision to rule out a move to Parsonage Way, but not before squandering a shed load of somebody else's money, the Chairman of the Club finally threw in the towel and resigned on Monday 30th July 2018.

In a bloodless coup day to day control of the club passed to the supporters of Worcester City Football Club.

My heariest congratulations to Steve Goode, the new Chairman of the club.

It is with much pleasure that I welcome this move and congratulate him, and wish him well in the formidable task that lies ahead.

Congratulations.

CITY v AFC WULFRUNIANS - Wednesday 5th September 2018

Worcester cemented their fourth win of the season with a respectable performance against a robust team of visitors.  A goal in each half was sufficient to swing the game of few chances in favour of the City.  Having taken the lead in the first half through Jordan Harrison’s low drive City made it safe when James Baldwin’s penalty rebounded for him to score.

WOLVERHAMPTON SPORTING COMMUNITY v CITY - Saturday 15th September 2018

Buoyed by five consecutive league wins Worcester went into this game against the Great Wyrley based strugglers full of confidence but it proved to be far from easy for John Snape’s team as the home side played with a fluency and drive of a team at the top not the bottom.  Far too often the only thing that stood in the way of a shock lead was the performance of the returning keeper, Dan Jezeph, who made a string of fine first half saves.
Little was seen of Worcester as an attacking force and this was not helped by the early loss of Jamie Smith was came out worse from an unfortunate clash of heads.  Great credit must go to City for not being overwhelmed by the hosts attacking strategy.  Worcester created only one goal scoring chance in the first half and it was Jordan Harrison who celebrated his signing of a contract with the City by stooping to head home from an accurate cross from the right wing. It came as little surprise when poor marking by City gifted away the equaliser.  City continued to offer little up front but they were ruthless when the opportunities came. Firstly the impressive Liam Lockett drove home a loose ball with a super shot from 20 Yards and then James Baldwin was in the right position to hammer home the third after a dreadful mistake by the Sporting goalkeeper. Worcester easily ran down the clock without further problems unless more sloppy defending handed a second goal a few seconds from the end. The win moves Worcester up to third in the league.

Worcester City v Lye Town - Saturday 29th September 2018
City might consider themselves to be a little unlucky not to take all the three points after dominating the second half of this game but once again it was poor defending that undone all the good work.
The first half though was a different story as the visitors totally outplayed city and missed a hatful of opportunities whilst City failed to create even one chance. That the score was 0-0 at half time was largely down to the City goalkeeper who made a string of fine saves along with a couple of glaring misses.
City were much better after the break and went ahead when Jordon Harrison found Chris Withington to score with a neat finish.  The equaliser was a poor goal for Worcester to concede coming from a free kick to Worcester near the half-way line.  The ball was not floated into the visitors box as expected by sloppily passed sideways where Wood picked it up and, with most of City's players further up the field, he was able to lob the keeper from 30 yards to leave a final score of City 1 Lye 1.

WORCESTER CITY V STUDLEY - Thursday 11th April 2019
After a season of mostly disappointing results City finally broke the gloom with the much needed boost of some silverware in the form of the Worcestershire Invitation Urn.  It was a close encounter with both sides looking to win the game and the result so finely balanced that is was eventually decided in City's favour in a penalty shoot out.
Studley were twice in front, firstly early on when a free kick was not cleared and a fortuitious rebound off the crossbar wrong footed the City defence.  Dave Reynold equalised soon after picking up a loose ball after a mazy run into the box by Liam Lockett.  City were then on top for the rest of the first half but were denied by fine goalkeeping.
Studley took the lead seconds into the restart and things began to look bleak for City. That is until a cameo performance by Joe Bates brought City to life.  As panic set amongst the Studley defence it was a second goal from Reynolds that brought the scores level again.  Tyler Weir fluffed a golden opportunity to snatch the win but it finished all square.  The first ten penalties were all converted with neither keeper given any chance and the only scare being Tyler Weir's goal via the inside of the post.  Studley put their sixth penalty wide and Attoumani stepped up to win it for Worcester.

Things can only get better after a season of consolidation at the club.

2019/2020

The season ended in March 2020 after the Govenment imposed a ban on the sport.

After much discussion it was decided to void the season.

It is hoped that the last home match away from the City has been played.

CITY ARE GOING HOME
